19-day holiday taking in Cape Town, the Garden Route and Kruger National Park. A perfect itinerary for a bunch of friends or for families.
Although the trip can be enjoyed without a guide, I would recommend using a guide who can show you some lesser-known surprises and who can impart his knowledge, passion and experience of our beautiful country.
Day 1
Arrive at ORT International Airport, Johannesburg. Private transfer to your accommodation in Johannesburg on a bed & breakfast basis.
Day 2
Explore Johannesburg with your private guide.
Suggested Activities
Tour to Soweto, the Apartheid Museum, Nelson Mandela’s family home, the Hector Pietersen Museum.
Overnight Johannesburg.
Day 3
Fly to Cape Town. Private transfer to your accommodation, booked on a bed & breakfast basis. Spend the next five days experiencing Cape Town and the Cape Winelands.
Suggested Activities
Go up Table Mountain by Cable Car, take a full-day Cape Peninsula tour stopping off at Boulders Beach to see the penguins, visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens where you can hike for three-hours at the back of Table Mountain. Visit the Cape Winelands for a day and experience wine tasting, wine pairing, wonderful restaurants and the beauty of this very special area. Spend a day doing a historical tour including a township and visit to Robben Island by ferry and the District 6 Museum and shopping at the V&A Waterfront. Take an evening stroll along the beachfront and watch the sun set or just laze at the pool or on one of the magnificent beaches.

Day 8
Drive to Oudtshoorn along Route 62 over mountain passes through the Karoo. Overnight in Oudtshoorn on a bed & breakfast basis.
Day 9
Visit the Cango Caves and Ostrich farms and continue over the Swartberg Pass to Knysna. Overnight Knysna on a bed & breakfast basis.
Day 10 – 12
Explore Knysna, visit Plettenberg Bay and Natures Valley
Suggested Activities
Sea kayaking, boat cruises, watersport, nature trails, wildlife reserves, markets, golf, art galleries, beaches and restaurants.
Day 13 – 14
Drive back towards Cape Town on the coastal road stopping off at Hermanus for 1 night. Eat Knysna oysters and view the Southern Right Whales by boat or close to the shore between July and November.
Day 14 – 15
Return to Cape Town where you will overnight at the V&A Waterfront before flying off to the Kruger National Park the next day.
Day 15
Bid your guide farewell and fly to Kruger Park for your 4 night safari experience at a 5 star private game lodge. You will experience wild life, luxury accommodation and delicious cuisine. An experience of a lifetime!
Day 19
Fly from Kruger Park to ORT International for your fight home.
